Welcome to Half Moon Bay

Half Moon Bay’s Main Street has a rich history, with dozens of buildings of historic significance. With parks, live music, many shops, galleries, eateries, and ample parking you’ll easily spend the whole day downtown.

If you’re here on the weekend, the Coastside Farmer’s Market is Saturday morning at Shoreline Station from May through December. Hosting dozens of growers from near and far, craftspeople, florists, ranchers, and chocolatiers, you’ll find almost anything you need for your week’s meals. And there’s always music!

Afterward, take a stroll down Main Street, with so many shops, galleries, eateries, and places to sit, rest and take it all in. There’s even an outdoor playground at Odyssey, where kids and adults alike can explore the sunken ship, make crafts and play. In the Summer and Fall, there’s likely music at Mac Dutra Park on the corner of Kelly and Main, hosted by the City, and Shakespeare in Carter Park, just north of the bridge.

There is a Historic walking tour, the town’s original jail (now a museum), and many fun events, including the famous Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival, Shakespeare in the Park, Night of Lights, and an Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade.

To the south is Ocean Colony and is one of Half Moon Bay's exclusive neighborhoods. It is the only one guarded by a gate, the only one nestled among two championship golf courses, and the only one that calls the Ritz Carlton, Half Moon Bay, its next-door neighbor.

To the north is Miramar, one of the more unique areas of the coast. It offers visitors and residents a leisurely stroll on the paved Coastal Trail. The Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society is one of the Bay Area's most famous music venues and it benefits from an unforgettable location.
